SanSwiss announces acquisition of two Italian companies Glass 1989 and Karol.

Swiss-based SanSwiss AG announced the accomplishment of the acquisition of Glass1989 Srl and Karol Italia Srl, before two wholly-owned subsidiaries of Synergia Group. The closing was accomplished in the beginning of March 2023.

The main target of the acquisition for SanSwiss is to set a foot into the Italian shower enclosure market, in which the company has not been active so far. Other significant synergy opportunities are expected through leveraging marketing, technology and product content, back office, in-sourcing and new product development. All companies and brands will continue without interruption with their independent sales activities in the respective channels and countries.

Olivier Gunther and Sebastian Hainz, Co-Managing Directors of SanSwiss, are already looking ahead :
“During the course of the next months, we will concentrate step by step on the priorities for lifting our common synergies.

Glass1989, as well as Karol are well known brands and have developed an outstanding reputation in their home market, but also beyond Italy. At the same time SanSwiss has grown significantly over the past years. Under the roof our the new group of companies we are active with three production sites in many major European countries, well known for our high expertise and performance in shower enclosures and other bathroom products. We are very confident in the successful development of the enlarged group over the next years.”

The former long-time owner Stefano Boccalon will continue in the role of Managing Director of Glass1989 and Karol and will be in charge for the Italian market. As part of the Group Management he will also play an active role in the expansion of SanSwiss over the next years. He points out the strategic fit of joining the SanSwiss Group : “Being one of the Italian market leaders for so many years in the high-end decoration and equipment of bathrooms and wellbeing areas, we join with full pride the organization of SanSwiss, thereby enlarging the existing product and service portfolio in the shower enclosures sector. I am more than happy that with all our employees staying on board we embark to a very promising common future.”
